Freedom of Choice Protests hit France
Getting away from the disappointing anti-American direction of this thread, the anti-abortion lobby and activists have been active in Europe and the UK for many years, spearheaded both by extreme Catholics and by various American groups who have been financing the anti movement.

Catholics believe in (or at least preach) The Virgin Birth...tagh wrote: ↑Sun Jul 03, 2022 1:24 pm Getting away from the disappointing anti-American direction of this thread, the anti-abortion lobby and activists have been active in Europe and the UK for many years, spearheaded both by extreme Catholics and by various American groups who have been financing the anti movement.
At the same time, more and more RC paedophile abuse is coming to light.
And the 'various American groups' are nearly all god-botherers, many of them self-proclaimed pastors making a fortune whipping up misguided religious fervour at the expense of their "faithful".
I'd say there's a much bigger problem with religion.

As I posted elsewhere a week ago:
So you are on "Who wants to be a Millionaire". You are down to 50:50 and the question is:
What do you call a legislative assembly that is male centric, makes decisions that are contrary to the views of more than 50% of the population, decisions that degrade the position of women and decisions that in the civilised world are widely viewed as being driven by religious extremism?
Your choices are
1. The Taliban
2. The Supreme Court of the USA

@manonthemoon2 +1 otherwise it may go back to the use of a knitting needle (and other methods) as used by a good friend of mine in the 1970s.
With this hand, I will lift your sorrows. Your cup will never be empty, for I will be your wine. With this candle, I will light your way into darkness. With this ring, I ask you to be mine.........The Corpse Bride
