Hughnique, I smell two rats. What about this picture? Source a rather official organisation in France, one of the regional SPANCs. Not too much room for interpretation within the rather rigid guidelines of legislation originating in Paris (and Brussels....).

Summary in French:

' Chaque jour, vous utilisez de l’eau pour la vaisselle, la douche, le bain, la lessive, les W.C…
Ce sont les eaux usées domestiques. Ces eaux usées domestiques se décomposent en 2 groupes :

* les eaux usées ménagères provenant de la cuisine, la salle de bain, la machine à laver et le cellier,
* les eaux vannes provenant des W.C.

Après usage, ces eaux sont polluées. Elles doivent donc être épurées avant d’être rejetées au milieu naturel
