I'd take the photo to your local plant nursery/garden centre and ask. They're usually very knowledgable ;)

Download the app "seek" , take a photo and it may tell you what it is. That is how I discovered the dogs vomit slime mold.

If you do a search for white slime mould you will find several similar images e.g. https://www.google.com/search?q=white+slime+mould

This page https://www.naturespot.org.uk/gallery/slime-moulds mentions a Facebook Group which might help with identification

Well done and thank you to everyone - I think you have nailed it. :clap:

The links provide hours of fun and the "Dogs Vomit Slime" pointed out by Polarengineer seems to be the culprit. The extended images of it show some very close matches "also known as scrambled egg slime" seems about right.

In fact we had a storm the night before last and the slime took a hammering in the associated heavy rain and the wounds inflicted on it has turned dark brown and appears to have died off. Still some to deal with though.
