Couch as compost?

Probably three or four years ago I dug up a load of couch and stuck it in a sealed bin with some water meaning to get rid of it later, and clean forgot about it. Today I peeped into the bin and found that it had turned into a fine, damp compost. My question is this; can it now be used as general compost or should it still be slung away?

No reason not to use it but beware any live couch lurking in the depths. We have a rhizome grass a bit like couch and it composts fine in our heaps but occasionally I do find live roots - which in fairness may have invaded from outside the heap rather than being un-composted root
