The first five or so years in France I got badly bitten by aoûtat. Now they don't seem to affect me. I thought maybe your body just gets used to them. This year we had no need for a mosquito net and didn't even put the fly screens up!

A couple of days ago we had loads of flies in the loft. As I was making a bit of racket swatting & swearing OH shouted what are you doing up there to which I replied I'm the dead body collector. I managed to get them all out dead or alive and then closed the shutter and the blinds on the velux which seems to have done the trick - next time I shall say I'm dealing with the Jamesons as he'll be up like a cork out of the bottle
With this hand, I will lift your sorrows. Your cup will never be empty, for I will be your wine. With this candle, I will light your way into darkness. With this ring, I ask you to be mine.........The Corpse Bride
