We had the same recently. The mairie agreed to take responsibility for the trees in 2010 and I have documentary evidence of this. EDF sent a contractor who used the circular saw on a long arm and left the branches at the bottom of the trees. I can also prove that the power cables were installed after the trees had grown so if they kick up I will present that evidence as well.
