A friend of ours has just had her oil-fired boiler replaced with a heat pump and a new hot water tank, for 1€.
The contact was made by telephone, cleverly an English-speaking chappie although the guys who did the work were Eastern Europeans.
There was a wee problem the next day, the Mairie chased the company for her and all was sorted. The Mairie told her that the Mairie has to send a form confirming such works have been done otherwise the company wouldn't get paid by the govt, and they wouldn't sign it until she was happy.

I want two more air-air PAC's installed at our house & have been trying for about a year to get a sensible price from installers.
We are not entitled to any really worthwhile government contributions so the quoted bottom line is what I'll expect to pay.
Having had one PAC installed I know what a reasonable price should be but so far the only way to describe quotes received is 'rip offs'.
It seems to me that installers are concentrating on clients who can claim the highest & are therefor not concerned at the cost of the installation as long as they're not paying so inflating prices is the norm. If they can get away with rich mugs paying over the odds they are happy to take their money but anyone else not eligible for grants can go whistle!
Trouble is that if the above is true it's the taxpayers who are paying to line installers pockets so a double whammy for folk like me.

If the exchangers are manufactured in China it is worth remembering that shipping costs from China to Europe have gone up around 700% (costs 8 times more) since the start of the year. This clearly has a much bigger impact on bigger bulkier items than small ones.

Off subject, but related to energy offers. Today I received a 'gouv.fr' email offering me energy saving light bulbs. It was flagged as dangerous on my Orange account. Another scam.

Be careful out there.

Every few months I get a "free lightbulb" email. I think a few years ago it was legit but when I saw they wanted my tax information I dumped it. I treat all free or one euro offers in the same way. File it under Free Lunch.
