Oooooo...could you send the Vikings south when you've finished with them, please? I can find plenty for them to doMAD87 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 28, 2023 4:53 pm @RobertArthur aka Robert Engie Le Bricoleur , I've been on virtual shopping trips to Leroy Merlin this p.m. and will get rad isolation - I remember we had it in the UK. I hope we don't have to remove the rads to install it as they're big heavy cast-iron beasts. If so, I'll have to hire a couple of hairy Vikings.

A bit like the quote for our roof, then. Accepted and signed in March, still waiting...... Mind you, if I was a roofer, I'd wait for the cold weather to kill the wasps off, too

There is an article in Le Figaro today Chaudière à gaz ou pompe à chaleur, comment faire le bon choix ? which might be of interest? I don't have a subscription so cannot see the complete article but many of the comments are interesting.

Thanks Elsie. OH has a subscription but he's so anti spending money (deep pockets, short arms) that he's probably already recycled that edition.
I've pretty much decided to go the insulation route anyway.

Having read so many differing opinions (all put as facts), I think that’s a very good idea - the recommended amount has probably gone up since you put yours in.
