As a lifelong car and motorcycle enthusiast I still find it hard to believe my luck at the number of motoring events hosted in small towns and villages close to my home. I’m no talking about the big events like the 500 Ferraris Contre Le Cancer or Angoulême Remparts weekends but the much smaller events held with the full support of the local communes. The photos are from three of my favourites from this year.

Vintage cars are really popular round here too and a pleasure to see out on the roads in summer.

I had hoped to enter for Bressuire this year and had been accepted but events meant I couldn't make it.
There are a number of montées historiques ( course de côte) around here and whilst not very long they do provide some fun. Also there is a rassemblement every weekend somewhere, so lots to turn out for.

Wish I had known about it when we lived down there.
Mind you, there was a vide grenier 1km from my front door here and we only discovered it by accident on the way back from somewhere else.
Humanity landed on the moon over fifty years ago but it seems too much to ask for a reliable telephone/internet service in rural France.
