Fun and games with Mondial Relay

#1 Post by widge »

Hi
I had some fun and games with Mondial Relay today.

But firstly I will hold my hands up to us causing some of the fun and games, and on reflection they were very good with their help.

It started when I went to pick up a couple of parcels at a locker, entered the code for the first parcel, no problem.

I entered the code for the second one and as soon as I hit continue I got a windows blue screen with fatal error, I waited while it collected error data then it started a reboot.

After about 5 minutes or so it was still rebooting, so decided to go and do some shopping then come back.

When I got back it had rebooted ok, so I entered the code again, this time, I got a message saying the the parcel had already been picked up, and a number to ring for problems.

I rang the number, within a minute I was speaking to someone, unfortunately my wife had only WhatsApped me the locker codes, the guy on the phone needed the 8 digit shopping number, which I didn't have, so I tried ringing my wife to get more info, but she wasn't answering, so I went home (20 minute drive).

I rang again (again speaking to someone within a couple of minutes) unfortunately I had found the order number, not the 8 digits shipping number.

So hung up and searched for the correct number and rang them back again, this time he told me that I had to return to the locker and ring again, but it had to be today.

So a little annoyed returned to the locker and rang again, and the opened it so I could get my parcel.

Afterwards I realised why I needed to return, as the locker holding my parcel, was now on the available list, so anyone dropping off a parcel may have been allocated my locker, it then being opened for them to leave their parcel.

So the morel is always take the parcel shipping number as well as the locker code, when picking up a parcel.

They were very helpful on the phone, any confusion was down to my poor french.

Thanks for the tip. With my track record of dealing with delivery companies in French I'll add this to my list of "avoids".
On my headstone it will say: Please switch off mobile phones. I'm trying to get some sleep.

I recently have used the locker system to send probably a bit different when sending rather than receiving, no probs.

Don't get me wrong, I have no problem with mondial relay, it was unfortunate that the machine just happened to crash at the crucial point, the problem was that I didn't have all the information with me, their helpline was good, if I had had the correct info with me, it would have all been sorted in 10 minutes.
