Found in the garden

Superb, we had two western whipsnakes mating in/on our dry stone wall but as soon as I moved to photo they crept out of sight.

I took 19 shots altogether but that was the best of them. The frog broke free in the end and, although sorry that the snake lost his dinner I was very happy that the frog wasn't it.

That was a few years ago, I always take videos these days and then, with the computer, select snapshots from them. The one in the other thread of Jules receiving his homecoming treat by the top, swimming, pond was just such a snapshot from a 20 minute video of our walk in the forest.

It was through the window !! Not ideal, but better than nothing. I didn't dare go out for fear of scaring him off !

That was a beauty Blaze, so clear, you must have very clean windows. Ours, because you can see right through the house to the other side, have to be kept mucky. And still we get birds crashing into them some sadly with fatal results. Cut outs of hawks would be counter productive as it would keep the birds away from our bird beam altogether.

Thank you Spardo Actually our windows get pretty grubby, especially low down where the dogs slobber on them !!
Birds flying into windows can be a problem. They see a reflection and think they can fly straight through. In our case they think they can fly straight through the garden door and out of the hall window unless the door between them is closed.

Bloody deers they cause us no end of problems eating young tree and rose buds and branches, they can jump over a two meter high fence from standing start, I've watched them do it here.
Didn't have trouble when we had a dog and at our age not getting another one unfortunately.

Spectrum - when you resize, look for the pixel size and make the longest side 900 px and you should have no problem.
We have a sparrow hawk living nearby and, yes, the small birds run and hide.

Lovely to see but preferably not in the garden - they love rose buds and rub their heads on the bark of trees ! I've seen them in the fields round here and fear the chasse will get them.
