Found in the living room

#1 Post by RobertArthur »

Upstairs in my office at home, in company of our always vigilant cat, I thought: the birds are noisy today. A tiny bird had managed to fly into our living room. Set me free Robert, please and thanks for these cracks in the wall. So with the standard shoebox trick he/she was transported to the garden. I forgot to ask his name, anybody?

I think it's a Tree Creeper RobertArthur they grip onto the trunks of trees and use their long beaks to winkle out grubs.

What lovely capture (not literally !). I agree with Char, a Tree Creeper. I haven't seen one for years ...
I can see your cat is extremely vigilant .... !

Yes Tree Creeper but which one? plain or Short Toed? we have them pretty regular on the chestnut tree along with a Nuthatch, the creeper flies down to the bottom and climbs up, a Nuthatch has the ability to come down the tree head first, a creeper can not.
