If you come from one of the Channel islands, you are known as a Donkey, if from the other island you are known as a Crapo, cant remember which way round it is :?

Since owning a donkey - adopted with his little shetland pal over 10 years ago, I have learned much about these amazing, misunderstood creatures.

They're highly sensitive to feelings, cautious before stubborn, and often more intelligent than a pony and horse put together ....so I'd take being called a donkey (by someone who knows about them) a compliment! :D

Guernseymen are called Donkeys, those from Jersey are called Crapaud. Lots of different theories as to the origins mostly concerning the inter island rivalry. Just don't ever call a Jerseyman a 'bean'. That's a term purely for Grockles :D
