Rafal generally keeps himself well and we don't have to spend long brushing him from time to time.

Lovely looking dog.

❤️ We've seen quite a change in him as the months have gone by since we adopted him. It's only looking back that we realise it took time for him to settle with us.
We've socialised him well and would like to find a companion (similar size, type but not a puppy) but no luck so far.

Yes. Dogs are so much more reliable than people, and well worth the effort spent.
Humanity landed on the moon over fifty years ago but it seems too much to ask for a reliable telephone/internet service in rural France.

Pity we're not closer as Jess just loves to run & has a ball with other dogs when situation permits.

We'll probably be coming down your way after the summer ;) Talking of balls, Rafal adores running after one. We bought 4 "handballs" from Decathlon - he punctures them in minutes but we just keep pumping them up. OH and I are useless at kicking but it's fun and doggie doesn't mind. We had a lovely red rubber ball which we haven't seen for months - it must be somewhere in the shrubbery ....

Jess hasn't a clue with balls or any other 'fetch' thing.
Don't think she's ever been allowed to play but petite par petite she's learning. She's got lots of rope with knot things & chucks 'em about when she has a 'funny five minutes' each evening turning over her lounge bed & generally being daft.

Rafal has never brought the ball back to us but since he came back from kennels, he's dropping the ball at our feet ! We'd already decided that if he didn't bring it to us, we'd ignore him until he did !!
We asked for him to be put in with another dog (or two) to "stimulate" him. Well, apparently it certainly did that : the lovely chap who runs the kennels said he (Rafal) got very excited and he had to calm him down. That probably explains why he was so knackered yesterday after we picked him up !

The Aussie has been one of the most popular breeds in France for some time now. They don't seem to have the same popularity in the UK though.
The Crufts dog had a docked tail, which is illegal in France and the UK but it could have been bred in a country that permits it or it could have been docked for medical reasons ...
However, I think judges risk sending the wrong message when choosing a dog with, for example, a docked tail. They should be encouraging good practices, not bad.
