What is the process for getting the registration of a dog upgraded when ownership changes; who does it, how, how long does it take? Information much appreciated please.

When we moved to a different department, I took the dogs' passports to the vet so that they could change the registration address, and they did it on the spot on their computer. I assume they have a direct access to the puce site.

All dogs have to be registered with I think it's called "Icad" a quasi government agency thing.

Our vets, or the rescue centre have always done the paperwork for us and sent off the forms (last one five years back) and not charged for this! Their registration papers arrived a week or so later with a password which allows you access to the details of the dog on the website which you can adjust eg exact colour, type of coat, etc so I expect you can change your contact details there. I'm pretty sure Icad is correct so you could look it up on Google.

Yes, it's Icad.

Sorry Tagh, I was talking about changing address. When we adopted Rafal, the previous owner and OH filled in the form changing the details and sent it off to Icad. Icad sent us a new form with new ID.
Actually, if you look at the Icad form, it explains what you have to do. It's very simple.

Paperwork and icad updated, very painless. Miazy had recovered well from having a sterilisation op. that it transpired she did not need; painful c*ck up on the paperwork it transpires. She does not yet understand why I have had to hide her throwing toys for another few days so has resorted to digging up my plants in revenge! Dont blame her really.
These cool evenings she is a wonderful right side body warmer as she cuddles up and snores!
