Strange my Doberman girl has seemed to take to 2 of the cats but the other one they hate the sight of each other

Many dogs are strange in that respect. Our Dobermann/Beauceron cross, Jules, chases cats at high speed, never catches one because he howls in excitement even before setting off, but, a few weeks ago visiting a friend he was quietly sniffing the grass while a kitten lay down only 2 metres away. He saw it but completely ignored it.
The dog we were visiting is a manic cat chaser, but faced with a cat ignoring him and curled up on a chair 2 feet away, he merely stared at it. Its the thrill of the chase, that's all, but I did have a Greyhound once who caught and killed a cat.
