2026 Tax return is open and it’s changed again

#21 Post by Liz »

Help!
I have a public service UK pension plus the standard UK state pension
In section 1 of 2047 you tick public and/or privé, but you can't input two different figures
I have read here that public service pensions go in section 6 of 2047, but that doesn't come up on my 2047 - how do I get it?
My sections go from 1, 2 straight to 9
Problem sorted by clicking various options, but heck what's this CSG calculation thing?
Time to save and continue later....
How do people live without at least one dog in the house?

From memory, in section 1 of 2047, there is an easily overlooked button under the first entry that allows you to add another pension. I use it because I get pensions from the UK and from Germany

Someone is due to fill out our form for us tomorrow, and all the required numbers are ready. I just went online to check that the all-important code is accessible so I can pass it to them to gain access. The phone number to which the code is due to is one for which the SIM is no longer available. I can't find a way to change personal details such as that. Please does anyone know how?
And, please keep it simple; I am only just out of hospital and not by any means 100% Thank you.

It has never seemed sensible to pay an accountant to do it since we don't get enough pension to be taxed on but the form being so complicated we always go into the tax office and let them enter the numbers in the correct boxes. Sometimes we get get someone helpful with a nice attitude and sometimes we get the rottwieller manager woman who treats us like something she would scrape off her shoe. If I knew what the cost of getting someone else to do it was I might try it just to avoid the stress. Being British people don't like to divulge what anythng costs.
On my headstone it will say: Please switch off mobile phones. I'm trying to get some sleep.

Well, I will! This is not an accountant, but a very efficient handholder, and my French teacher. I stayed behind after lesson one day and within 10-15 minutes, it was finished. I believe she asked me for 20€ (or 30). Whatever it was I gave her 10 extra as too me it was worth every cent. After 21 years of struggling though the ordeal by myself. I finally decided that I absolutely dreaded it so much I was happy to pay to have it taken off me.

I think we've solved the problem. The target phone for the code still isn't working properly, but I managed to gain access to the tax site, via said phone, an hour ago. The first thing I'll want to do tomorrow will be to get the target phone number changed to my Smartphone.

The fee you paid was a bargain for the stress it avoided. Well done.

There's an English Accountant near us who does a fair few returns for people around here (Dept 24). He does for the old boy who I now visit in EHPAD. I think he charges about 200/250€. I gave him the necessary figures off the bank statements, UK pensions being paid into a French bank, plus interest, less any donations to charity. He has access to the Govt site to complete the declaration online for the client.

@Liz
You need to put public pensions in 1AL/1BL on form 2042 and other pensions including state pensions in 1AM/1BM
On the first page of 2047 tick the boxes
Des pensions et rentes imposables en France) and
Des revenus imposables ouvrant droit à un crédit d'impôt égal au montant de l'impôt étranger (which should bring up section 6)
You just put the total pension figures on section 1 of 2047
