I did find those, but they seem to mention only the 'base value' for - in my case - a pool. If I understand this, the tax is determined on the base value. The tax is NOT the base value.

That's what I think.
Rough figures:
eg 7 x 4 m swimming pool = 28 x €200 = 5600 x say 5% tax (varies by department) = €280 tax

10 x 20m extension = 200 x €800 = 160,000 x say 5% tax = €8000 tax

I haven't looked into it much but that's my first impression based on what I've read
nb €200 and €800 amounts are not exact but I recall that's roughly what they were unless you were in Ile de France

Yes, Amanda, that is how I understand it. Our commune charges 2%, our department 1%.

There is some wildly different amounts been arrived at, I think I have filled the simulator in correctly have done it a few times and still get the same amount a 100m2 property add a 30m2 extension the tax will be 3990€ it says pools will now be at 250€ per sq mt the two post above seem to arrive at a very different figure, I hope Iam wrong and they are correct.

Yes, I have read the pool tax is 200€ per m2 for 2022. I presume it will become 250€ per m2 in 2023.

So, if you have a 10x5 pool (50m2), using the 250€ m2 taxe, I calculate it like this:

10x5 = 50m2 pool
250€ x 50m2 = 12,500€ base value
2% of 12,500€ for the communal taxe = 250€
1% of 12,500 for the department taxe = 125€
Total Taxe = 375€

Unless I am misunderstanding things, this is the taxe d'amenagement for the pool.
