Withdrawal tax

#1 Post by Grangela »

Having just withdrawn a chunk of an assurance vie policy to contribute towards our flat in Pau, we need to pay a chunk of tax to the Trésor Public à la Banque de France.
If I do a virement, where do I find the relevant BIC or IBAN? My mind has gone blank. Again. It’s not on the form I’ve just laboriously filled in.
Thanks in advance. Angela

Ask your bank to advise?

Edit: when my ass vie ended, it was paid net, but I don't know what the position is with partial withdrawals. Perhaps ask your insurer first.

If it’s through your bank they should make the tax deduction directly.

If it is a French assurance vie rather than from an organisation in another country, the tax should be deducted automatically.

Have they demanded the tax? The only demands I’ve had have been after completing my annual tax return and then they give details of how to pay.

We are being taxed on the gain.
We trotted off to the tax office (Cannes), where they told us to go to Grasse. To do that you need an appointment. I’ve emailed, but if I don’t receive an answer soon I will have to phone.
