Well move to St Yrieix and you will change your mind - €85K house pays €2.5K tax vs £300K house pays £1.6K tax

St Yrieix has a lot of facilities, including old folks' homes, the absolute killer for both TH and TF. When we researched a 'town' commune, we ignored all those with residential facilities for the elderly.
Still, I checked our old house's current council tax (£2.4k), which makes the St Y rates look extortionate.

We have that large container system here and there’s always a pile of black bags next to the one outside the salle de fêtes.
I think tippers probably choose to leave them at that point because there are no houses directly opposite and there’s parking in front plus it’s the main route through the village.
