I'm booked to have these done in October, it's the 2nd time to have it. Hopefully I will have a lovely sleep and know nothing about it.

However, the prep. I have an hours drive to the hospital so worrying about needing to toilet on the way. From what I remember from before, I couldn't leave the toilet!

Are potatoes allowed during the 2 day prep? Not looking forward to this.

Would it be feasible to stay at a hotel close to the hospital the night before ? Perhaps that would be uncomfortable too as you wouldn't be in your own home. It was just a thought. I can certainly understand your concern. Otherwise, perhaps map out all possible stops along the drive there.

I hope everything goes well and there are no problems found.

In my experience by the time you have drunk all the stuff to clear you out there is nothing left. My drive was only 30 minutes but don't remember having to go to the loo again before the procedure. Hope that helps. You won't feel a thing.

I had a sore throat for several days after an endoscopy.

I had an 'up the nose & into the lungs' one a while ago & wondered why there were 3 nurses & 2 operators in the room when they shoved this thing like kiddies hinged snake into me.
"We'll anesthetise your nose & throat so you won't feel a thing" said the specialist.
Yeah right! I soon found out that all them folk were there to hold down a patient if they panicked , which would have been quite easy to do if one was too far gone to realise the consequences of jumping off the chair with this contraption lodged firmly inside you.
Horrible experience & dead right about the sore throat elsie

They should send you a list of the foods allowed before hand. Also the prep tends to have done it’s worse a few hours before the procedure
