Dripping tin

I’ve decided to make gingerbread from a recipe in my ancient (50 years about) Be-Ro home recipes book. I’ve lined up the ingredients, but what are the dimensions of a dripping tin, please? Judging by the photo of the finished article it’s quite deep, much deeper than a Swiss roll tin. In hungry anticipation……
Any bakers out there, please?

Presumably you're making a gingerbread loaf so any suitable loaf tin should do. Most of the tins I use are about 3-4 inches high & the loaf rises above the tin.

A dripping tin is a tin you put under roasting meat to collect the dripping!
Presumably it is a version of this 1923 recipe?

This should give you some ideas - but it does depend on the mix volume

Thanks for that, both of you.
I used a 22 x 22 cm tin and the result was rather thin, but Mr Grangela says he’ll eat it all.
I used SR flour, but maybe I should have added a bit of raising agent.
My Be Ro recipe book dates from 1965. I think I had to collect coupons off flour bags to get it.

I always add a half-sachet of Levure chimique (baking powder) to French self-raising flour. Gives it a bit more oomph!

This is one of my favourite baking aids. It's adjustable in all directions & works well with most doughs unless they"re too runny.
Great for buns

What a great idea! I’ll look out for one of those. Thank you.
