Declaration des Biens
Now taxe d’hab is no more, the taxe authorities have invented a new hell for us all to navigate.
Declaration des Biens is compulsory. On the online system there is a new ‘button’ to navigate to it. Deadline is supposedly June 2023.
Confirmation of biens required. Then if anything changes go in and register the change.
I tried today. I have 2 biens. One is our house, the other is our garage. They are separate entities but both registered as our residence principal.
There is no online contact form so they’ll probably be inundated with requests for face to face appointments.

there is no problem except for those without access to a computer but it’s something that must be done.

We have a remise in a nearby village which is not, and never has been, a residence.
It is listed as one of our biens, 30 m2 garage and 70 m2 buanderie.
It has no services connected, but they are asking me whether it is occupied.
The only options for declaration are:
Propriétaire occupant à titre de résidence principale
Propriétaire occupant à titre de résidence secondaire
Bien vacant (non meublé et non occupé)
Occupé à titre gratuit
Loué
If I choose "vacant" they ask when it began and ends being so.
I can declare it vacant from the day we bought it in 2000, and don't have to say when it will cease to be so, but I fear that declaring it vacant will infer that is is a residence.
So I will do nothing except wait and see.

I think the intention is to charge some level of taxe d’hab on unoccupied biens. It might be better for you to ask a question rather than get a surprise bill.Nomoss wrote: ↑Tue Jan 24, 2023 7:48 pm We have a remise in a nearby village which is not, and never has been, a residence.

No idea, Nomoss, I like many others have only just heard of this form.
No doubt there will be lots of head scratching going on everywhere.
How would a non-French second home owner get to know of it, I wonder?

How do people live without at least one dog in the house?

I wonder how they will deal with those who still make paper declarations and effectively have no personal dossier - even if the tax authorities have created one.
