Ah ha, the perils of editing others' titles.
On another forum there is a long running thread concentrating on help available in France to foreign residents in sickness and old age and it became very largely centered on my own experience coping with a family member with dementia. We received a large amount of sympathy and practical support for which I was very grateful and appreciative of, but one day I saw that the title had been amended with the addition - 'Support for David and Fran'. I thought that the owners had done it and was very touched, mingled with a certain amount of guilt that perhaps our story had somehow hogged the thread even though it had never wavered from the original theme and had indeed provided much useful information.

Then there was a rather curt post from one of the owners 'could the person who amended the thread title please edit it back to the original'. I never knew it was possible to do that and the 'culprit' soon owned up full of apologies in explaining that it was done with the best of motives and the guilt that she felt 'in case it had offended us'. I rushed to re-assure her that we weren't, but the fact that the owner could easily have edited it herself but chose to make our friend do it was evidence of a virtual trip to the naughty step.

In short, best intentions etc..

I look at most of the photos and haven't a clue where they are so there's no way I could "guess" where they are. I enjoy using google or other resources to see if I can find the location (not often successfully) but if you consider this is cheating, then I will be unable to participate. It's a shame because it's like using an encyclopedia - you learn a lot from it.

Hello @Blaze I thought that you had to 'Guess' where the picture was, so when l think l know where somewhere is l give my answer, or have a guess using the clues given - If we are able to use all available resources then that is research and l will do that in the future when playing the game. I never used the word 'Cheat'. l said l didn't think it was in the spirit of the 'Guessing game. My misinterpretation of the rules of @DominicBest 's thread should not stop you and everyone else from playing. I apologise for the confusion l have caused.

Hello @Oldblueraincoat Sorry about that, I didn't mean to exaggerate It's just that I'm not familiar with many of the areas in the southern half of France and could not possibly guess at anything !!! I also get a hard time if I take my camera with me (spoils a good walk etc ) so I stopped taking photos of places unless I could get away on my own.
