Re: Posting Photos
OH wouldn't it be nice, save on a lot of mains water when its very dry (normal here in summer)
The previous farmer owner filled it in though, all weve got if a dip in the lawn.

Re: Posting Photos
It was a nice treat for us. We live in town in an apartment with a courtyard and small garden. Out in the middle of the country they are on mains water, but water is a precious commodity it seems. There is a pump in the well for the hose, water butts at the end of the gutter drainpipes, all for the garden. There is a pond full of lilies and frogs and a swimming pool.
But over 4 days (and nights) we were bitten to pieces. Glad to get back to civilization and apply liberal amounts of hydro-cortizone.

Ah the joys of living in the country side. Being a country bumkin I'm used to it, sitting out in the evenings are the time when it worse.
We use a Apaisyl repulsif spray against them.

Re: Posting Photos
@ Char, posting photos is one thing, seeing them by non-members is not always possible. The question is: To be embedded or not. In your first remarks you wrote: "As well as uploading images onto the forum via the attachment option, you can add images hosted on another website using the URL for the image." These uploaded images are invisible (Windows, Android, iOS) when you are not logged-in. And for non-members, curious about what this website has to offer. They get the following message: " You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post." No problems with the external links to specialised photo websites.
Wouldn't it be a good idea to grant these viewing rights to every visitor?

We're discussing this on another topic viewtopic.php?f=4&t=76&p=822#p822 - I'm looking in to it.

Re: Posting Photos
I've just joined this site (and I do speak German !) - thank you for the steer, RA. I have used various handlers a long time ago but they have either folded, limited the number of images or started to charge.RobertArthur wrote: ↑Sat Jul 24, 2021 2:20 pm There are several photo websites making life easier. I default to a German site, called Picr.de Reliable, fast, resizing on autopilot so always a perfect fit for publication on forums or just resizing to please email servers with only an url in the text message and not an overload of attachments.
I hadn't appreciated that uploading from my computer used up forum bandwidth ....
As I'm oscillating between 2 different computers, it will make life easier re photos

Re: Posting Photos
You can still upload from your computer Blaze - I only really mentioned about linking to the photo because if people have them hosted on their own site or Flickr etc then it may be quicker and easier for them.Blaze wrote: ↑Sat Aug 07, 2021 6:34 pmI've just joined this site (and I do speak German !) - thank you for the steer, RA. Re: Posting Photos
Okay, Char, but it might be less frustrating to go through the handler to save me pratting about until I get an acceptable size !
