Architecture told me where it could/might not be, but I haven't identified it yet...
I am intrigued by the masked person on stilts.

LIz, be even more intrigued.... Clues: we were heading north, direction Vezelay, Avallon and closed our windows when driving through this village, a rather strong smell of cheese, and continued our trip.

OBR, yes. An interesting history of this medieval city in Burgundy and even a legend going back to ancient gods: "Lieu d'habitation séculaire, la légende raconte que Semur fut bâtie par Hercule lors de son retour d'Espagne." Twenty years ago they made a start with these medieval festivals. About cheese: the picture hors competition is the village of Époisses. Before looking at the next "where-in-France" photo, may I invite everybody to attend this festival?
