A long way ahead of us. The snowdrops are still in flower. The spring mini iris flowers were destroyed by a night of ice rain. The daffs are still just leaves and the tulips ore only beginning to emerge from the soil.

I think it is more temperatures - down to below minus 10 a few times overnight in the last 5 weeks. Snow actually acts as an insulator for the flowers in such conditions.

I really enjoy looking at photos on the forum and the flowers in particular are so beautiful - thank you for them all.

I’ve just been through them from the beginning and had a pleasant surprise on seeing some from Paray-le-Monial, which we stayed near a couple of times many years ago, on a campsite with our vintage caravan. There was a little quincaillerie there, where I bought a tapette to keep the flies at bay - so strange what sticks in our minds! We ate some lovely dinners at a nearby ferme auberge - ahh, such lovely memories!

Our snowdrops are just about over, the primroses are everywhere and look lovely in the sunshine. Near our home are two lovely areas of crocuses - one area mainly mauve shades and the other is gold. So beautiful!

Our daffodils aren’t nearly ready to burst forth, but our magnolia stellata has some flowers open today, 20th March; photos from last year or maybe 2023 were taken on 24th March and showed it covered in its lovely white flowers.

One day I might manage to put some photos up on here…….

Edited to put date right, 20th, not 24th.

Warmer this afternoon than the previous days, those two little tulips really appreciated this first day of spring.
