The B/W ones are using a program called ON1 photo effects. Basically after desaturating I superimpose the image onto a 'texture' and then add a surround. The coloured ones are using coral paint shop.
The computer and software is yet another thing I 'inherited' from my OH. I'm still trying to get my head around it all.

This was using Pixlr to add a texture to a Photo I'd already done in b/w of a French "horse whisperer" ....

Love the effects - you've got us all going in this now, OBR.
I think the "natural" effects are the nicest, but the un-natural are great fun to play with !
