I should think that Chateau looked quite spectacular at one time with that fancy brickwork patterning.

That last one is a sorry sight isn't it - it looks like it was quite grand once upon a time.
Still it makes a lovely photo.

Does anyone recognise this old chateau? A scanned print, so quality is poor. It was taken by the roadside en route to the UK from Cozes, 17, on a gloomy March day in 2002.

This lovely old building in La Roquille was abandoned some years ago and the site became a dumping ground for old cars. It is now being cleared, ready for demolition, l assume, so l took the opportunity last week to take some pictures and preserve it before it is disappeared.

It reminds me for some reason of a railway station platform in the UK but can't remember whether it was Beeston, Nottm Midland, Nottm Victoria, Derby, Horsham, Pulborough, Chichester, Brighton, Exeter St David's, Exeter Central, or even St Pancras, London Victoria - I did say on another post that I often wandered possibly Barnham - that was a lovely platform/cafe etc. Did I mention that in my early years I was a train spotter complete with my little Silvine notebook
