Ignore this please

#1 Post by Char »

You can ignore this - I'm just saving some stuff I wrote and posted on FE years ago before it gets lost for ever, although it might be better lost than found. I'll find somewhere else to put it later.

The Bucket that catches the drips from my brain.

Do you feel joy in the rain,
find contentment in the Sun?
Feel growth amongst the pain?,
Then your journey's just begun.

Feel the wind in your hair
and the earth beneath your feet,
hear the bird song in the air
marking time with your heartbeat.

Can you see the beauty in a flower?
A little inconsequential thing.
Put there for creatures to devour,
more useful than a diamond ring

Can you reach and touch a star,
or stop and sit upon the moon?
See all the planets from afar,
and hum along to the Earth's tune.

Can you feel it when a rainbow,
rises through the mists of time?
Have you ever thought that you know,
the dance of life is just a mime?

Do you see the universe reflected,
in a teeny weeny drop of dew ?
and when your thoughts are all collected,
do you feel you already knew?

The sun she rises in the morning,
The moon has control of the tide.
When you think that life is boring,
open up your heart and look inside

You'll find all the colours of the rainbow,
you'll be refreshed by drops of rain,
and warmed by the sunshine, and know
that's what eases all the pain.

When you see the eagles fly
circling the warm currents of air
if you then hear your soul cry,
let it soar a while, with them there.

Give a little piece of yourself
to everybody that you meet.
You wont diminish your own wealth
but you might help them to their feet.

Feel the rhythm of nature
guiding your every move.
Then all your actions will be pure
and you'll be making your own groove!

Who ate the milky way?

#2 Post by Char »

Who ate the milky way?

It was of a planet I was dreaming
that once shone blue, ever spinning
as if by magic in the dark cold depths of space called a universe.

I caught a glimpse quite fleeting
of a creature whose wings were beating
as it flew towards the huge blue sky with something in its claws

It was while I was thinking
I watched an insect, which was drinking
from a drop of dew a buttercup had caught during the night

I realised every thing’s connected
when I saw the trees reflected
in the wild life pond that I had dug several years ago

There was a pricking in my conscience
as I realised the consequence
of the mess we’d made to the planet and the damage we had wrought

I made it my life’s mission
to fight with contrition
to rid the planet of the monsters who leave ruin in their wake

A huge task I’d been appointed
and I became quite daunted
when I realised with horror that I couldn’t do it by myself

Then I noticed gladly
many people felt as badly
when they think of all the creatures that don’t exist anymore

If we stand up to be counted
the problem will be surmounted
as the earth spins round so we can keep our feet upon the ground

The whole world we must reach
so we practise what we preach
and we will keep on fighting because the planet’s life’s at stake

If they keep on with this madness
I say this with much sadness
we will all be helpless - ‘cause it might be to late for the planet to be saved

It was of our planet I was dreaming
that shines blue, ever spinning
as if by magic in the dark cold depths of space called our universe.

Fine words butter no Parsnips.

Fine words butter no Parsnips.

Honey coated words from your bitter old tongue
Beguiling, ensnaring and charming the young
Malicious, salacious the rumours you spread
Heaven alone knows what goes on in your head

Your lies like the puss from a festering bite
Poison other's vision hiding the truth from their sight
When your face cracks with a big toothless grin
Your eyes can't hide the wicked scheming within

Pathetic you look as you flatter, grovel and fawn
Cajoling people to become your next pawn
You make them feel special as you groom them to fight
Using their kindness to spread your nefarious blight

Putrid and foetid your soul reflects in your eye
As alone in your wretchedness you gaze up at the sky
Noxious and loathsome through the sewers you crawl
Stealing secrets from others to share them with all

Corruption and deceit ooze from your pores
As you sharpen your knives to settle perceived scores
You make up and play by your own devious rules
All the time thinking you are dealing with fools

There was a time when I thought you were nice
'till you fell into madness and put my head in a vice
Oh how you changed when you didn't get your own way
and allowed the greedy green eyed monster to hold sway

As your paranoia grows and you sink to the depths
You will climb over others and use them as your steps
If it is true that one reaps what one sows
Then the life that one lives is surely what grows

The Bucket that catches the drips from my brain.

Who pulled the wings off the Butterfly

She gave her anger to the thunderstorm
and she watched as it crashed and lightening
flashed with her rage.

She gave her tears to the clouds and
she stood beneath the soft rain
hoping it would wash away her pain.

She gave her sorrow to the wind
as it whipped around the storm
but it blew it back to her again.

The birds have taken all her joy
she hears them laughing in the trees
she wishes they’d leave her in silence.

Ripe fruits have fallen from the trees
and lay decomposing on the grass
the garden is un-kept and uncared for.

And when she hears the Buzzards’ cry
she sees with her mind’s eye,
his spirit soaring with them.

All though the sun still rises in the sky
she does not see the sunshine
through all the greyness and her gloom

She is every body’s strength
caught in the Whirlpool of her grief
she has to fight it can’t let it pull her under.

So she paints a smile on her face
makes sure everything is in it's place
and goes to face the world.

But when I look into her eyes I can see
the pain she's buried deep inside
bubbling up from her heart.

Each time a loved one dies you find the wound
you have inside, that time had healed,
has once again been ripped open.
