This takes away beds from non-Covid patients - the same is happening in France. Depending on the area, operations considered non-essential are being cancelled/postponed because beds are being taken up by Covid patients. Because the majority of Covid patients appear to be unvaccinated, they seem to be taking priority over non-Covid patients .... which puts medical people on the spot to have to decide who is more important. Not easy for them, nor for people who see their planned operation postponed.

The problem is not just lack of beds, but lack of qualified medical staff who cannot be produced out of a hat.
