Any comments on the slab-sided, four door electric fugly offering from Ford costing from £42 to £56,000? For me its just another boring clone from auto stylists that have run out of ideas.

But aren't there a limited number of ways you can stick a body on four wheels with the lowest drag whilst meeting all the regs?

I have been a Ford man since I started driving. Not exclusively but. E93A, 100E, 2 x 105E, 2 x MK1 Twincam and a few modern ones. Currently a Kuga.
The Capri in it's various forms was another Ford success. However, I don't even bother to look at the latest offerings as they are nearly all Hybrid or electric in which I have no interest. I believe electric cars are damaging for the planet and not a saviour.

I had a 2.0 litre Capri as a company car in the 1970s. Great car and came to France on holiday in it a couple of times. Coming home one time from Provence I stuck around 115 mph where safe to do so on the RNs. Soon made the ferry port!

It's kind of an insult to the original, I'd say!

Very much an insult.
Especially when you consider the original Capri drew inspiration from the successful Mustang that is still in production in US today. The Mustang is still very recognisable today as a Mustang. The new Capri is just another (insert your own word) ugly computer on wheels.

A model A Ford was my first car and I had three more and a '32 roadster later and then after arriving in UK had a Fordson E494C 5cwt van and an E83W 10cwt van and several 105E saloons plus a big ol' V6 Mk 4 Zodiac. Every single one was reliable and fun to drive. The only disappointment was returning from Cornwall to Kent a piston in the the E83W made a bid for freedom through the side of the block, luckily only a few miles from home.

I always fancied a 3-litre Capri Ghia but never came across one cheap enough at the right time. Today, they are all too expensive, like anything else over 30 years old.
