Trump is ruining Washington because his lackeys are allowing him - even encouraging him - to do so. He's surrounded himself with yes-men who relish so much the privileges and lifestyle they have that they have totally lost sight of what they are actually supposed to be protecting : the Constitution and the freedoms of the American people.
Instead of just blaming Trump, look at all those around him who are complicit in his destruction of the very checks and balances that were supposed to stop the dictatorship that he is imposing. DT couldn't have started the Iran war on his own - he's got rid of anyone strong enough to stand up to him and replaced them with people he knows will support him and will do anything to line their own pockets.
A government for the people and by the people ? What the heck does that mean today ?
I wouldn't blame all Americans, Hotrodder. There are plenty who are as horrified by what's going on there as we are. The number of Americans we've met in Europe who were posted here with the military and have decided not to return to the US seems to be growing. Just as many Americans know nothing of the world outside their own, it's not so different in France where many people have never set foot outside France metropolitan or the DOM TOMS.
As for Russia and other countries where there is no freedom of the press, what hope is there for the people to have any idea of what is really happening in the world rather than what they are spoon-fed by their governments ?
And now DT is trying to gag the press who fortunately aren't going to take this lying down .....
