Steve Wright RIP
Another one that I grew up listening to, especially in the afternoon Sally Traffic, Old Lady, Mr. Angry, and others, remember when he wound Alan Titchmarsh up by repeatedly referring to him as Titmarsh.

Gone so young.
I listened to him in the 70s on Radio 210 (later Thames Valley Radio) in the Reading area. He broadcast a very popular afternoon programme with Mike Read, the Read and Wright Show.

Tony Blackburn was on both ITV and BBC this morning paying tribute, never liked him that much, there was another one on there that used to play a sad bit of music whilst reuniting long lost lovers, was it Johnny Walker?

With this hand, I will lift your sorrows. Your cup will never be empty, for I will be your wine. With this candle, I will light your way into darkness. With this ring, I ask you to be mine.........The Corpse Bride

Fixit worked with him on 210 before Steve moved to the Beeb, very sad news.
How do people live without at least one dog in the house?

Goodness, I remember that, very tear-jerking stories. The music came from the Romeo & Juliet film with Leonard Whiting and Olivia Hussey.Bayleaf wrote:Simon Bates, I think - "Our Tune"?
He was very funny, never vulgar and fun to listen to. I remember Mr Angry

His classic phrase "I'm so angry, I'm going to throw the 'phone down" is still used in relevant context to this day!
