Merriam-Webster says it is 'sexually suggestive dancing characterized by rapid, repeated hip thrusts and shaking of the buttocks especially while squatting.'

I've heard of it for quite a while but I shall never master how to do it!

I didn’t know it either. I read the article yesterday hoping that I might get a clue from the context. All I learned was the two who were killed hadn’t exactly helped themselves to keep safe.

I have never been a dancer. Just watching someone twerking gives me backache, and I wonder how people can bring themselves to willingly look so stupid in public.
Humanity landed on the moon over fifty years ago but it seems too much to ask for a reliable telephone/internet service in rural France.

Dancing is very useful. It is the vertical expression of horizontal desire. :o

Agree. We'd probably find the answer when referring to the average I.Q. of the human population.

Didn't it start in the Caribbean, most of those women have generous derriere's, which they seem to like wobbling about

I disagree. Two people standing up dancing in an open car? Is that normal? Had they been sat down and strapped in they would not have been thrown out.
