@Liz , correct. Vauban also renovated his chateau in the Morvan. When we visited Bazoches it was almost a time machine: more than three centuries back in time. The Three Musketeers also present? I'm afraid not, too many soldiers around.

The Circuit de Charade, also known as Circuit Louis Rosier and Circuit Clermont-Ferrand, is a motorsport race track in Saint-Genès-Champanelle near Clermont-Ferrand in the Puy-de-Dôme department in Auvergne in central France. The circuit, built around the base of an extinct volcano.

Circuit de Charade it is.
Had a great weekend there for the 100 years of Bibendum in 1998, the weekend France won the World Cup so there was a lot of celebrating at the campsite we stayed on. And got to drive around the circuit in my moggie traveller.
