Algeria is close enough Elsie. It is/was a few hundred metres from where we lived in Bouisseville in the late 1960's.
Known locally as Chateau Navarre, it was pretty run down then. An old lady, who my wife visited once, lived in it alone in two or three rooms. It was worse by the time of this blog. https://koubach.skyrock.com/6.html

Edit: I expect the whole area is a lot worse now than when we were there :(
