Outside socket with a switch?
Are you sure these are waterproof when the plug is inserted?, or have you put it inside a weatherproof box?

Maybe I'm wrong but I assume that Spectrum wants an outside socket to plug in his garden watering pump.
If that's the case he only needs to water proof the socket & presumably wouldn't be using it to water the garden when it's raining.

I take your point about waterproofing the socket however raining or not the socket will always be live. A simple way is to take a 5 litre plastic square type container, like the type screenwash comes in, and cut the bottom and some of the back out of it, then just slide it over the socket, doesn't look great but serves a purpose.

Outside socket with a switch?
The house has lots of flush mounted outdoor sockets, this one is a direct feed from the unit to a small loose waterproof box, just enough room inside for three "Wago" terminals, I did have three differant sizes of new watertight boxes, but with a socket and the switch and the plug there was no room
when this house was re-built they decided to make me a new entrance, so now I have two
the original gates were electric but after twelve years of service something went wrong
so I took off the control box stripped out the electrics, transformer etc, cut off a couple of internal partitions and used that, all waterproof and six screws to remove to gain access, treated myself to an extra beer
