Which do you do to keep the brain working

#1 Post by Doug »

there seem to be only three of us doing the crossword, word sections at the moment.
We are always into crosswords, codewords, sudoku etc. to keep the old grey matter working.
Not many here do the same so it seems.

I'm not interested in online games, quizzes etc., I'd rather do "real" ones, even if it means paying for them !

Balance on one foot while puting a sock on.
Doing the same for under pants.
If it's a good day standing up while doing my laces.
Keep the same password for everything in case of brain drain.
Real life suduko when I have the time.
I'm one of the lucky ones, when I go gaga you should not notice much change.

I work. That keeps my poor, tired brain turning.

Mine keeps active continually trying to fix things that should have been replaced years ago.
Humanity landed on the moon over fifty years ago but it seems too much to ask for a reliable telephone/internet service in rural France.

My mind is kept active by …
Working out the daily rations for each horse, according to size, condition and workload
Programming daily exercise routine for horses, making show entries, driving horses to shows, unloading, loading and tacking up horses, acting as sports psychologist and groom.
Daily mucking out of stables, fixing broken fences and humping water buckets around.
Ordering and collecting horse feed and bedding supplies
Book-keeping for 4 different businesses, doing devis, letters and chasing unpaid invoices
Organising maintenance of cars, trailers and machinery
Carrying out my two house renovation projects, doing plasterboarding, electrics, plumbing, fitting kitchens.
Shopping, making meals, washing, doing housework, gardening, keeping veg plot going and mowing grass
Keeping 5yo grandson amused

…. crosswords????

Well some of us have been there Crystal in different ways and know exactly what you mean, but in the end a sort of retirement comes, well we slow down a bit.

You think I'm only joking?... obviously I live in a totally different universe to others of my age, but it keeps me physically and mentally active and gives me a sense of purpose.
