Cross stitch

#1 Post by Doug »

My good lady's indoor hobby is cross stitching, over the last couple of years she has been into birds,
here's the first to upload.
Now I have to get into one of my pass-times and make some frames.

That really is something. She should be very proud to produce work like that.

Thanks, it took about six months.
There's Golden Oriole, Fire Crest, Gold Crest and Gold Finch to come.
She is about to start a Kookaburra, basicaly because we planned to revisit OZ for our 25th and couldn't due to covid.
Lovely bird saw a lot back in 2009 along with the Blue Wren.

They're beautiful, Doug. Mami must have very nimble fingers ! Does she frame them ?

They are lovely. My niece does a lot of this but she uses preprinted patterns. These look like they are ‘freehand’ am I right?

No I do, well will the latest when I get round to it.
She has just started her latest a kookaburra the hardest ever done,
Think it will take her months.
She buys the kits from
www.xstitchbirds.com
Then enhanses them. Keeps her out of mischief

Just catching up, glad you all like them.
She buys the cloth here as its better/ finer than the kits, then follows the pattern
marking the pattern off in crayon as she goes.

They are lovely Doug. Looks like she's doing them on linen too, or a very high count Aida.
I used to make cross stitch pictures years ago, but the beaded costume making took over.
