Too far away and too hot! We're watching it on ITV4 HD, and following the route on the official website - as it will pass through an area where we rented when first in France 20 years ago. Loving the aerial coverage!

What a terrible blow for Cav ....
Rather sorry that Wout van Aert didn't win the stage ...

Sad indeed for Cav. I think the respect he is given is that the race coordinator has declared him the rider with the most ever road stage wins. So creating a new category.

Crap news about Cav. He was the main reason I kept watching since Sir Bradley of Wiggins departed. Even my local favourite Julian Alaphilippe is nowhere to be seen.

Yes shame for Cav. A true star and 34 TDF stage wins is a remarkable achievement. Chapeau

Once again . . .

Carnage at the Tour de France as a fan trying to take a SELFIE with the oncoming riders causes a massive pile-up as they are struck by Sepp Kuss who falls at the front of the peloton triggering the crash

I wonder what can be done.

Yesterday was carnage as well with 5 abandons, including Romain Bardet and James Shaw. I'm not quite sure what caused the accident but I don't think it was a spectator.

Fortunately Seb Kuss has been able to carry on today. Was it last year or the year before that a spectator caused the crash where Marc Soler broke both his arms ?

We noticed that Pogacar was held up by the motos because the crowd weren't giving them space. It seems to be getting worse yet everyone seems to be so forgiving ...

What's all this carnage? I presume many are dead although we didn't see it.
We are watching on French tv and yet on Saturday we missed part of the race so decided to watch ITV4+1. Having seen most of the race on French TV we knew the outcome but while watching live we commented on how Pogacar and Vingegaarde looked so fit and on top of the job. Then on ITV listening to that idiot Miller wittering on about Pogacarr being on the ropes. He was anything but.
It's a race that's now warmed up and I just hope that the end result won't have been decided by a motor cyclist.

Pogacar's slowly catching Vingegaard on time - he's only 10 seconds behind now. Pogacar has the ability to summon up enough energy every time to do a spurt at the end - he's far from on the ropes. He's very much in the running for the yellow jersey.

The accident was caused by a spectator sticking his arm out into the road - clearly seen on the video.
