+1. Good luck LAF.

It's the method we use when a new kitten arrives in our midst. They are put into a large guinea pig run for a few days until all parties become used to one another.

I did the same years ago when introducing two unused-to-cats dogs to 4 unused-to dogs cats. The dogs and cats did shifts in the very large cage so the others could roam freely. It worked a treat and within a few short weeks all 6 animals were happy to socialise and even cuddle up together.

Not too good but not too bad either.
The harness works fine & doesn't bother Charlie but hasn't been tested as Chancy won't come down from her safe space in the bedroom unless evicted & carried down.
Same thing in reverse as she won't come in at night unless captured & carried.
We bought a dog cage of a size in anticipation of our next old dog adoption if the right mutt comes along but it's too big for the kitchen so it's gone back in it's box until.....
The situations OK at the moment as if Chancy doesn't want to come in at night she stays out, but no idea what's going to happen when the nights draw in.

I should have said that Charlie is an absolute darling with no apparent vices save the obvious Chancy chasing, which he hasn't had the chance to do for ages now.

RIP CHARLIE
We're gutted.
This morning there was a message on facebook that a white cat was found dead in the road by our house & the finder had kindly put it in the ditch.
Sure enough it was Charlie, easily identifiable by the ear tattoo.
He was only with us a few months but had become part of our family even if Chancy didn't agree
Our one good thought is that he was filthy & emaciated when he adopted us & at least spent his last few months in comfort.
It solves the problem with Chancy but not in the way we wanted.
It's fate it happened but what a bugger
