Voitures Anciennes

Well hidden among the greenhouses in Westland (Netherlands) is the largest collection of classic sports cars in Europe. Oldtimer fan Joop Stolze (79) has spent 50 years building his huge collection. Now the car enthusiast is retiring. But really retiring? ‘I'm not going behind the geraniums after all!’. In April, the world-famous collection, comprising some 400 sports cars, will be auctioned off. This will all be done online as Stolze's collection attracts car enthusiasts from the United States to India. Another quote; ' I am not a devious dealer but want to share the love for cars. The classic car is really a kind of art and that art should just stay on the road.' Stolze himself has three children, whose love of cars was instilled by their father but who will not take over the collection.

Picture please.

I need to find another car at the moment but I doubt there will be anything there affordable.
Depressing to say the least to find a rusty Escort or mini is making 6 to 10K these days.
On my headstone it will say: Please switch off mobile phones. I'm trying to get some sleep.

Another eleven years and many passengers will ask: how to open or close this rear window of a 2013 Hyundai I10? And by the way, only visual driving, without infotainment screen and associated security instruments and warning signals, isn't that dangerous?

Already sold, today, in Germany. It was a feast for every car fan! Classic cars from Ferrari, Porsche and Mercedes came under the hammer at an auction in Winsen/Luhe in the district of Harburg (Lower Saxony) on Saturday. Most of the vehicles came from a “barn find”. These cars had been standing around in an old tennis hall for years. They were imported from California by a Hamburg dealer in 2009. The advantage of the West Coast: many cars from California do not suffer from rust due to the climate there. As the property market collapsed in the USA in 2008 during the global financial crisis, many Americans had to part with their cherished German luxury cars. As a result, the prices for these luxury cars plummeted.

What actually struck me most at the start of the video: that quiet engine sound, smooth, almost effortless. Modifications, dual exhaust and a different carburettor, also resulting in more torque.

Monsieur Dagonet, merci beaucoup.

Dont know if this has been recommended before, see what old cars you may have owned and see if there is any still running. (Howmanyleft.co.uk) I tried two of my Renaults, a 20TL and a 30TX no 20s running but four 30TXs, a bit of fun. :D

A unique colour combination, blue and yellow. Whether you can cross the Russian border unhindered with these classic cars, should anyone feel the need, apart from the necessary export and import licences, I don't know.....People have already been arrested there for walking around in blue and yellow trainers.

Back in time: the French streets full of Renaults, Citroëns, Panhards, Peugeots and Simcas. Lean back and relax.
