Hello and Welcome

Hi Trelawny, another warm welcome to our small (and usually friendly!) forum. I grew up in Devon before moving here to NE Dordogne, avec la famille, 20 years ago, and know many great places in Cornwall. (I was a film extra in a very cheesy Paramount film years ago, that used Holywell Bay near Perranporth as part of their set).

Hi @Trelawney
I live at the bottom of Indre/top of Creuse. So probably not far from your secondaire. We moved from the Dorset coast to here in 2004 to a "No going back " type wreck of a farmhouse.
Still in the same house, though no longer a wreck!

We have been in our house since 2001 and have made it comfortable but have not needed to renovate in a big way. Our nearest town is La Chatre where we shop for most things and sometimes eat out.

Ah, but, don't you get a warm glow when you think that you saved 11 lives and a whopping proportion of Decathlon's profits for the year?

Hi all
I have just come across this site by accident, and thought it looked interesting.
My wife and I arrived in Herault at the beginning of 2006, and never looked back, although still restoring the house.

Hi Dave/Widge and welcome !
We're smaller and quieter than some sites, but we don't seem to have the spats and rudeness you see on the bigger forums - a huge plus. Char runs a peaceful ship !
Many of us have gone through and/or are still going through the restoring - old houses are a bit of a Forth Bridge exercise .... so you're in good company.
:D

Welcome Dave @widge

Renovation - been there done that and now at the point of beginning to renovate the renovations. It's a never ending task - but we would not have it any other way.
