I thought of putting this in the Joke section, but it's more weather-related !

Yep, I've never been more grateful for having professionally installed mosquito screens on our windows.

We have a large glass panel at the top of the back door and the sun hits it for most of the day raising the temperature significantly of the room. Wondering what we could do we tried this and it works ! We took the the car's windscreen sun cover and taped it over the window (the car is always parked in the garage.)

The other thing is painting that chalky stuff that's used on greenhouses - it's the latest thing

Getting that chalky stuff off afterwards is the bigger challenge.

I cut down a large cardboard box from a delivery and taped it the pieces to the glass panel of our utility room and also to the window.

We’ve just arrived home from staying for 3 nights at a local air-conditioned hotel as our house was too hot for us to cope, despite closing curtains, our mobile air con unit and several fans - opening windows in the evenings didn’t help as the air didn’t cool sufficiently.

50 ways to keep cool, this one is a bit less well-known: use a multi-purpose chair.
