Thanks for the update Blaze.

It still looks pretty bad out there. I hope the evacuations continue to decline. It's still hard for me to imagine where all those already evacuated have been housed. There are so many of them.

I thought of you Blaze when watching an interview with one of the EHPAD evacuees. She was quite agitated for having had to be evacuated. I imagine it isn't always easy to evacuate the elderly.

Apparently France has arrested 162 people since 6th July, in connection with intentional, and accidental causes of fire.

Some things have not been mentioned in the press and there's been a huge amount of nonsense written on social media and in the press simply to attract attention. Some of the film was a bit iffy too ..... some was real though.

While I understand the point you make - French authority moves at an escargot pace for much of the time, I do have some sympathy with the authorities when dealing with random volunteer groups, who may or may not be working to the "plan". Such action can be helpful but equally, uncontrolled, it can on occasion do more harm than good, despite the undoubted good intentions of those involved.

This sort of situation really does need a managed approach to ensure the results needed and the safety of all involved.

Quite right but I don't think the prefectures are the paces to deal with this sort of thing.
By the time they've got information from the fire services 'at the front', understood it & passed it on it would probably be old news.
Hopefully lessons will be learnt & plans put in place for the inevitable future re-occurrences.

Sadly, I think many of these fires were 'set.'

What could bring a person to do such things, I cannot imagine. There are far too many very ill individuals living among us.

or bad actors being paid to do it.
