Bloody Tunnel on strike!

I'm afraid the tunnel priced itself out of the market for me. I used to run on the freight service daily, so the novelty quickly wore off. Prefer the ease of the ferry, admit last time was pre covid, so don't know if standards have slipped, I thought P&O were a lot cleaner than DFDS and of course you can get a brekky on the boat, plus a mooch round the duty free, albeit sometimes cheaper in Asda. Not so bad when they had the frequent traveller at 10 for £399, but then times were restricted.

Don't talk about brekky - I have never eaten anything so disgusting - served out of a cardboard box.

One of the passengers puked it up (nice smell for the rest of the trip) - he probably had the right idea. I had strangled egg sitting on my stomach for the rest of the trip.

When I book a ferry, and I will need to, I think Irish Ferries have yet to let me down badly.

P&O, if you recall, fired their staff and then hired cheaper staff. They are now like British Airways - trading on a name and offering a crap service at a premium cost.

We have used Irish Ferries a few times now. But they did the same a few years ago....replaced all the staff with east europeans.

But the service is good & a decent(ish) breakfast depending on the crew that day.
