Pierre Palmade trial

I would like to think that additional charges could be brought - as a minimum driving under the influence.

I truly understand the emotion that this case has brought and I actually share it - believe it or not. But I have had some experience of how legal systems work and could see the logic of the decisions made.

I too share your logic exile, it would open up too many cans of worms here. Despite the recent incorporation of the right to abortion in the constitution, obtaining an IVG in France is still a lottery. Catholic dogma still reigns in this secular state. There are plenty of doctors who still hold fast to the teaching that life starts as soon as the first foetal cell divides, no matter whether the foetus is viable.

The next hot potato will be the right to assisted dying, already on the governmental agenda.
