Van man with my parcel

#11 Post by Hotrodder »

As people may already know, the internet connection here is abysmal. Not a week goes by without several interuptions or entire days without service. I have a constant dialogue (automated chat bot type) trying to get reconnected. There is an online self test and it invariably says there is a problem with the network and they will notify the repair team. They used to email me a copy of the technician's report (supposedly) signed by me to accept that the line is now working after watching the technician put it right before me eyes. Not once has a technician actually turned up in person so I have ignored these and sent several comments to this effect when they send a "satisfaction" query about their service. Most recently the automated self-test said the network was OK but my router was the problem and they would replace it without charge. Since the connection was working and only had the usual daily dropouts I forgot about the whole incident. Watching the letter box for the new router bore no fruit so I gave up and settled back into wondering what my internet options were. One day while looking through my email trash/scams/cold calling folder I noticed one saying that a deliverer was unable to access my letterbox so my parcel had been left at a locker at a supermarket some distance away. There was no clue as to what the item was, who sent it, and not reference number. There was a very bland looking header, no return address so I assumed it was a scam wanting me to click a link. Deleted. After another loss of internet last night I logged into my Orange customer space to have another moan about the crap service and found a record of my many past internet failures. One of them said I could pick up a new router from an Orange shop quoting a reference number so-and-so. I will give it a go on Tuesday when it is next open.
On my headstone it will say: Please switch off mobile phones. I'm trying to get some sleep.

Van man with my parcel

For the first time, I was asked if I had a code by an Amazon deliverer yesterday. I said "No" and he just shrugged and said "You are Mr Loup-garou aren't you?" and gave me the parcel.
