The which queue is also inconsistent. I flew out of Nice with my daughter and her tribe, they all have Irish passports, so in the EU line which was very short she asked the guy at the desk if you could use this queue as a resident, referring to me. Of course you can, you should always use the EU line.
Returning to Nice I was lambasted by the guy at the booth for being in the wrong line and had to get to the back of the long line over there for non-EU/citizens. I explained what had been said previously, he didn’t agree but gave up and waved me through. Unless it’s written down it ain’t necessarily so!
